Baby crib bedding sets have to be one of my favourite babies room theme inspirations. However, no nursery adorning theme supplement is worthwhile placing our babies in danger and the experts have spoken; the fewer child bed clothing that is in the cot while infant is resting the better. There seems to be no difference of belief among the experts in this matter. Dress your babies crib with every piece of that luxury bedding set when child is in the infant carrier or playpen, but when your baby is put to bed the infant bedding set must be descaled down sufficiently to assure safe sleep for child.
A infant is entirely dependent on the parent to guard against any item that could cause suffocation. Some items that are commonly added in baby crib bedding sets have been targeted as areas we need to handle with caution.
Infant crib bedding sets are cushioned, durable and comfortable so you can place your little one down in generous luxury for evening time and nap time. The banana fish 4-piece child crib bedding sets include hot comforter, dust ruffle, crib bumpers and crib sheet. There are many banana fish 4-piece sets to choose from for both baby boys and child girls.
4-piece crib bedding sets are available in many favourite infant and toddler colourings and themes including. Banana fish 6-piece baby crib bedding sets has bumper, sheet, quilt, window valance, diaper stacker and a dust ruffle. The banana fish migi line of 6-piece crib bedding sets come in a great selection of traditional and modern patterns including classic boy, classic girl and splash. Banana fish also offers a 5-piece infant crib bedding set through the skip hop line. These sets include bumper, reversible crib skirt, fitted sheets and a comforter.
Neutral baby crib bedding sets are also available and can be considered if the sex of the child is not identified, or if the new parents get something in this class to their liking. Being that the crib is the center point of the nursery, parents must determine the best size crib for the room, or more importantly, how big a crib the room can accommodate. If space is limited, maybe a crib changer combo is the best choice. This means storage of normally used items such as diapers, clothes, toys, etc will have their place, but the changer which sits atop of the drawers is situated handily.
Keep in mind that as the child grows the child nursery decor, appearance, and overall theme will likely have to vary to fit the childrens growth.
Child crib bedding sets that are non-themed are therefore very versatile and darn near gender neutral. Find a set of modern infant bedding with colors in patterns that you enjoy and set your own personal twist on it. I am anxious to find a set with a gold and black comforter to try with some art deco light fixings and accessories. Contemporary nursery bedding simply makes you wish to test all forms of new and contrasting things.
Pick up a set of inexpensive modern baby bedding and see where it takes you. Modern crib bedding is the wave of the future in the baby nursery pattern arena.

Toys have always been a love of mine. When I was a little girl I was thrilled with the mystery and surprise of receiving a new toy. Later with children of my own I was once again able to visit the world of toys. I even considered owning a toy shop.
Christmas is once again almost upon us and many of us are combing the stores, scratching our heads, or searching online for toys to buy. I now have five wonderful grandchildren. They age from five months to age six. I am excited to be searching for toys for them.
In the last couple of years I have done this search almost exclusively online. I find there are copious amounts of information about the toys that are available and the prices are excellent.
For the babies on my list I am considering:
Hasbro Playskool Busy Ball Popper – This toy was at my Granddaughter’s daycare and all the very small children loved it. They loved putting the balls in the spiral track and they never seemed to tire of the balls popping out the top. I am not sure if any of them figured out why the balls were popping out but it did produce lots of giggles and amusement.
LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table – One of the nice things about this musical table is that baby can play with it if it is flat on the floor. Then when they begin to pull themselves up baby can hold onto it and push the various activity buttons for sounds and music. I like this toy because it is suitable for children 6 months to 3 years.
Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo – Nothing baby likes better than to jump. Once a baby is able to hold their head well this is a great toy for trying out those legs without putting any weight on them.
There are toys all around it. Some of them will make sounds when the baby jumps. Other are great for grasping or batting. The seat swivels 360 degrees. It is very portable and can be stored easily.
Fisher-Price Amazing Animals Sing and Go Choo-Choo – This is an adorable train. It is suitable for babies that are crawling. One of the wonderful things about it is there are no tracks from which train will fall off. The colors of the train and the animals are beautiful. By placing one of the animals in the engine Baby will get a song.
The train lights up, plays music and makes sounds.
For the toddlers on my list I am looking at:
Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Bounce & Spin Zebra – This comes either as a zebra or a pony. It is great for toddlers that can climb up on it and rock away. It is low to the ground so any spills will not harm the child. As well as rocking the child can spin on it. It helps with balance and the beginning of coordination. It is a fun toy.
LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal Set – This magnetic game can be placed on any metal surface like the refrigerator at the best height for baby.
The animals are big enough not to be choking hazards. Initially baby will delight in pushing the buttons to activate the sounds. As baby grows and matures a bit they will start to match the body parts of the animals and equate the animal to the sounds. Even if they mismatch them they get a silly name for the animal. It is portable so children can play with it on the floor out of the way of dinner preparations.
Melissa and Doug Deluxe Standing Easel – I think an easel is a necessary part of every child’s life.
Once a child can stand and hold a crayon an easel will allow them hours of entertainment and creativity. This particular easel is sturdy and allows for painting, chalk, crayons and dry erase.
Fisher-Price Musical Tea Set – This is a darling set of play dishes in beautiful pastel colors. What child does not want to mimic the adults in their life and serve them food? Built of sturdy plastic it will stand those occasions when the tea just drops from little hands. The teapot is darling and plays “I am a little teapot.
“
Tonka Toughest Mighty Truck – Children need trucks in their lives and no one makes them better than Tonka. I am sure we had this same truck when our children were young. It is rugged and stands up to lots of abuse. We have always restricted these bigger Tonka toys to outdoors but they can be used indoors with supervision.
For the four to five year olds on my list I am considering:
LeapFrog Text and Learn – By this age children want to do everything that the adults in their lives do. With everyone running around with Blackberries and I Phones this gives this age group their own hand held device.
It also allows them to begin to explore words and start to spell.
LEGO Duplo 5380 Building Set – Like Tonka, Lego has survived and improved over the decades. It remains a favorite with boys and girls. One of the benefits of buying Lego is that you can add to it at a birthday or next Christmas.
Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera – Again just like Mum and Dad children adore taking their own pictures. They don’t worry about composition they just snap away. They are thrilled to have their pictures uploaded to the computer with everyone else’s pictures.
These cameras are almost indestructible and reasonably waterproof. A kindergarten teacher uses them in her class room and the kids love it.
Baby Alive Learns to Potty – This doll has the most enormous engaging blue eyes. She eats, she pees and she poops. She also talks and has phrases like “oh oh I did a stinky” that put children into gales of laughter. It is possible to introduce her earlier than age four when children are being trained themselves. At the earlier age the child playing with her needs supervision.
She is delightful.
Barbie and the Three Musketeers – After 50 years Barbie is still a much sought after item. The Barbie and the Three Musketeers series of dolls and accessories is this year’s version. The concept is built around the theory that girls can do anything they put their minds to do – even become Musketeers! As well as the dolls there is a magical castle and carriage. What fairy tale would be complete without them?
For our six to eight year olds my list includes;
Transformers – These action figures that are also three dimensional puzzles delight the boys that own them.
Even small boys who have no knowledge of the comics or movies entertain themselves with their own adventures. The top selling ones are Optimus Prime, Ultimate Bumblebee, Devastator and Megatron.
Bakugan 7 in 1 Maxus Dragonoid – While adults scratch their heads in wonderment, small boys engage with these marble like spheres. This is an extension of the Japanese game Bakugan in which warriors are pitted against each other. I think the fascinating thing about these magnetic marble like warriors is that small boys who have no knowledge of the strategy game can invent their own way of playing with them.
I like this game as it will last as the players get older and more interested in learning the game.
Mindflex Game – Without question this is the #1 selling game this year. Since its introduction earlier this year it has intrigued players looking for something other than mind games. This out of the future game has players wearing sensors and by their abilities to concentrate controlling the speed of the fans in the console. Many customers who have already purchased it report increased ability to concentrate in their youngsters.
It is recommended for age 8 and up.
Nintendo DS Lite – This video game system is great for quiet times and for travelling. There seems to be endless games that can be played on it. It has the ability to wirelessly connect so players can pit their skills with others all over the world. One of the very popular applications for this hand held device is the Mario Kart DS.
LeapFrog Tag Reading System – I see my grandchildren in this age bracket really interested in learning to read for themselves.
This is another great product from LeapFrog to help them do this. This system has won many awards for the over 17 learning activities that it has.
These are some of my selection that I think fit the criteria of durable, lasting and fun.

With our ever increasing knowledge of science and fertility, it is now possible to increase our chances of getting pregnant naturally. One of the ways to increase your chance of getting pregnant is to determine the best sex position that will increase your chance of getting pregnant with a baby boy.
How can the positions during sexual intercourse help determine your child’s gender? To fully understand and to answer this question, I am going to explain the rationale for this.
A human has 46 chromosomes.
These chromosomes contains the genetic material or our DNA(deoxyribonucleic acid). When sexual intercourse occurs, the egg cell from the female contains 23 chromosomes or half of a human’s chromosome and the male’s sperm cell contains the remaining 23 chromosomes.
When sexual intercourse occurs, the egg cell and sperm cell fuses into what is known as fertilization. It will now result into a zygote and will be implanted into the females uterus. It now has 46 chromosomes from the fusion(fertilization).
The female’s genes contains XX chromosomes and the egg cell will always be an X-chromosome. Notice that there is only 1 X representing the “split” of the genes. From 46 to 23 chromosomes.
While the Male’s genes always contain an XY chromosome and the sperm cell will always be an X or Y sperm cell. The X sperm cell represents the genes that produces a baby girl. And the Y sperm cell represents the genes that produces a baby boy.
If you wanted to have a baby boy, you would need to have a sperm with a Y chromosome fertilize an egg cell.
Now, are you wondering how is it related to sexual positions? Simple.
A male’s sperm with an X chromosome has a bigger head, thus has a slower movement but has a longer life span because of its bigger head which contains more nutrient supplies. A Y sperm chromosome has a smaller appearance thus it can move faster, but it’s life span is also shorter because it has less nutrient supply.
When sexual intercourse occurs, millions of sperm “swam” towards the egg cell and hopes to fertilize it. As soon as one sperm cell fertilizes the egg cell, a mechanism prevents the other sperms from entering and fertilizing the egg cell.
If you want to have a baby boy, you would need to time sexual intercourse on the day of your ovulation and have deep sexual penetration as much as possible.
This will increase the likelihood that the faster male sperm cells would reach your egg cells sooner.
If you want to have a baby girl, you would then need to time 3-5 days sexual intercourse before your day of ovulation and have a missionary sexual position or sitting position.
This will allow the sperm cell with X chromosome reach the female’s egg cell slower.
On the 2nd or 3rd day the egg cell might have been fertilized with the X sperm cell resulting into a baby girl.
But what if you are having difficulties getting pregnant because you were diagnosed infertile? or maybe you had endometriosis?Uterine problems, or your spouse has a low sperm cell count? Would you like to know how to get pregnant faster?
If you answered yes, you may want to check out how I solved my infertility problem and now have a healthy baby boy.

Have you decided it’s time to put aside your nice, orderly life and trade it all in for the mother of all rides….motherhood? Well before you throw caution to the wind and give up taking your daily birth control, there are some things you need to consider before entering into a contract that will last the next eighteen years (Although, truth be told, it usually lasts much longer than that!).
One of the first things to consider is your financial stability. Are you financially able to support a baby and provide for him everything he’ll need? I’m sure you have an idea of how many things a newborn baby needs, from diapers and formula to bottles and blankets.
Another thing to consider is your age. Is there an age that has been proven to be more ideal than another to begin a family? And for a final note, are you and your partner thinking along the same time lines when it comes to starting a family? This can become a huge issue between couples and one that needs to be agreed upon before becoming pregnant.
Is Now the Right Time for a Baby?
If you’re one of those people that wait for a clear cut sign to tell you that the time is right to start a family, you will probably find that your dream of a family never becomes a reality.
You keep putting it off and putting it off knowing that any day now you’ll get the sign that tells you without a doubt that you should begin a family. When you finally stop to take the time to think about it, you will actually find there are more reasons not to start a family. A few that are usually brought up are: we just bought a house or we need to buy a house first, we just bought a car and should pay it down first, you’ve landed a new job and don’t want to tell your new boss shortly after you start that you are now pregnant, or one of the most popular is that you and your partner are getting along so well right now that you don’t want to rock the boat.
As you can see, the list of reasons not to start a family can go on and on. When you stop to think about them, they do actually make sense. You surely don’t want to tell your partner you’re pregnant right after he tells you your relationship has run its course, just as you don’t want to tell your new boss your pregnant two weeks after starting the job of your dreams. However, if you wait until every detail of every aspect of your life is in perfect order, chances are you will never have a baby.
How Much does it Really Cost?
With everything you hear about how expensive babies can be, it’s enough to make your head spin. Government statistics on the subject are astronomical and keep rising every year. Actually speaking to friends that are parents about the financial responsibility can be intimidating as well.
However, when you take the time to really think clearly about it you’d come to the realization that you don’t have to have the total figure that is constantly thrown in your face locked up in a safe deposit box at the bank before you begin your family.
You also need to realize there are numerous ways to cut down on child rearing costs. Borrowing clothes from friends and family can considerably reduce costs and using store brands over name brands for certain items can help as well.
Considering Your Career
If you think worrying about money is enough to make your head spin, worrying about your career can be an additional burden. This is a huge concern for numerous women.
Depending on your career path, this could actually be something to consider.
For instance, women in law bill their clients by the hour and if you’re considering cutting back on your hourly work week, this could become a huge factor. You may also worry about being overlooked for promotions in your absence, especially if you trade your full time status for part time.
This is a huge consideration to discuss with your partner and one that can be worked out with advanced planning. If you partner can pick up extra hours at his place of employment or possibly take on a second job while you need to be off with the baby, this can be a tremendous relief.
With a little planning beforehand and a lot of conversations with your partner before taking the plunge, your family starting plans can become a reality. Once you take the time to realize that everything is not as black and white as it seems, you may just find that starting a family is more achievable than you once thought.

The idea of providing young children with tools to increase their intelligence is, of course, an admirable one and very appealing to parents who want the best for their children. And the Baby Einstein product did that in some cases when the parents took an active role in the learning process.
Baby Einstein’s demise was not just in the failure of the material to provide real food for intelligence increases, but very much in the way parents and caregivers used it as a simple “babysitting” tool. This proved effective since, as a video product, the child tended to be absorbed into it both visually and audibly.
But that may not be the best way for an infant to learn. ScienceDaily, in February 2009, reported on an EU-funded research project, called EmCAP, which brought together what many would consider an unlikely consortium comprising both neuroscientists and music technologists. Project coordinator was Susan Denham.
“The babies were presented with sequences of sounds of different tone colour – different musical instruments, if you like – but all of the same pitch. Occasionally, you play a sound of a different pitch and watch the EEG to see if they produce a distinctive reaction to this deviant sound,” explains Denham.
“Similar tests were done to see if babies were sensitive to rhythmic and melodic patterns, too. Denham says while this sort of technique has been used for many years on adults to measure pre-conscious detection of unexpected events, it has seldom been used with newborns. The big advantage is that it can work even when somebody is unconscious. So, the babies being asleep was not a problem.”
“The results were exciting, demonstrating newborns had a sense of pitch from birth, and this was not something learned through experience as had previously been thought.
The experiments showed they are even sensitive to the beat in music.”
“The bottom line is we come into the world with brains that are continually looking for patterns, and telling us when there is something unexpected we should learn about,” says Denham.
Enter a product called Music is…MATH! developed several years ago by two world class musicians, composers and sound engineers at a company called Sound-Science.com. What Jay Oliver and William Lenihan did was to create an audio product that gives the babies a “preview” of such concepts as math, spatial relationships, symmetry and motion, among others.
Using a proprietary technology they call rhythm/pitch mapping, they created an audio learning system that does exactly what the above scientific study says happens. The CD-based program is an ambient & scientific audio experience that delivers stimulating intellectual concepts to the early developing brain.
This is not to be confused with the so-called Mozart Effect which worked in some tests with college students. Mozart’s music may be mathematically symmetrical, but it’s way too complex to be processed and understood by a newborn baby’s brain.
Neither Mozart, nor any other classical composer, ever created their music for this purpose.
Music is…MATH!, on the other hand, uses scientifically-constructed musical sequences and tones, tailored to the baby’s cognitive understanding at that stage of his/her development. Oliver and Lenihan have created a passive learning system that compliments the essential stimulation of interaction with parents or caregivers.
Since the “music” is presented in the background, the baby can choose to absorb the information at their own pace and time.
Further, each CD is tailored to match the specific stage of development for the infant, progressing in 6 month steps from 0-6 months up to 18-24 months.
Read some of the research here to discover how remarkable this technology is. Then put your Baby Einstein refund to good use.
